Egyptian Golf Federation (EGF) National Coach Steve Burton, recently travelled to Alexandria for four days to deliver Junior Golf Coaching at Alexandria Sporting Club as part of an EGF Schools initiative.
A total of 57 students participated over the four days, all aged between 9 and 12 years old, with a mix of both Boys and Girls.
All the students participating attend the Schutz American School in Alexandria with sessions from 12.30 pm - 2 pm each day.
Steve Burton commented, ‘It is great to see such a turn-out for these junior lessons. These youngsters are the future of the game of golf in Egypt and we are excited to see the interest at such a young age. This is just an initial pilot scheme – that with planning we will then roll out and support other golf clubs in the country. We have a plan to create a pathway for these juniors to develop further in the game of golf. These are exciting times for the youth in Egypt to connect with golf and, at least try the game and get golf clubs in their hands and have fun.’
To support Steve with providing these lessons were the following Egyptian Coaches: Ezat Abu El Kassem, Adham Hegazy and Wael Ali.
