Egypt’s Issa Abou El Ella to play in this week’s Abu Dhabi Challenge at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club on the HotelPlanner Tour

Egypt’s number one amateur golfer Issa Abou El Ella will be playing this week in the $300,000 Abu Dhabi Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour (formerly the Challenge Tour) to be held at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Thursday 17^th – Sunday 20^th April, 2025.

Abou El Ella, 30 years-old, represents Alexandria Sporting Club in Egypt and received an invite to play through the regional golf authorities.

He told the EGF prior to travelling, ‘I have played in many Challenge Tour events in my career so far. I have always enjoyed the experience and I go with confidence having won last week’s Katameya Heights Amateur Open, especially with my last bogey free round of five under par 67.’

Abou El Ella will tee off tomorrow (Thursday) at 8.20 am (Local UAE time) in Match 25 in the first round.

He is paired with Jai Pickin (Aus) and 30 year-old Khaled Attieh (Saudi Arabia), who recently turned professional after playing in the 2024 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) in Japan.

Abou El Ella currently lies in 511^th on the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), supported by The R&A.
